Back in black

Apologies one and all for my absence of facts for over 2 weeks!!


But not to fear because yes, I am back.
And for one day only, the blog is black.


I have lots of strange and interesting facts lined up for you from my disappearance that I think ought to help make up for the lack of facts that you have suffered from.


So here we go :D


After dramatically losing weight, Caroline Clare from Ontario, Canada, developed strange electrical powers. These powers made metal objects jump into her hands and gave electric shocks to anyone she came into contact with. On one occasion, she managed to shock a line of 20 people holding hands.


Michele Rosciano, his son Giovanni, and his grandson Miguel were all born as the second child on the same day, same month and in the same hour as each other, just in different years.


Betty Lou Oliver from New York city had perhaps the worst, yet luckiest day of her life when she survived a plane crash AND a 1,000ft (300m) fall in an elevator in the same day.


In 1912, a 49 year old woman was attacked by a bull, having her intestines ripped out. But the doctor managed to clean up the wound, replace her intestines and sew her up. Simple really. . . She went on to live to the age of 105.


In ancient times, 36 million years ago, a 5ft, sun loving, giant penguin once roamed the southern coast of peru.


The tallest man ever, Robert Wadlow, was recorded at 8 ft 11.1in.
His hands were 12.75in from his wrist to the tip of his middle finger and are the largest recorded hands.
His feet were a UK size 36, equivalent to 18.5in in length, he holds record for largest feet too.


The highest batting average is held by Sir Donald Bradman who holds the record at 6,996 runs in 80 innings from 1928 to 1948.


"Angel Falls" in Venezuela is the highest waterfall in the world. It has a total drop of 979m (3,212ft) with the longest single drop being 807m (2,648ft).


The longest nails for a female were 8.65m long and the longest nails for a male are 9.05m long.


A baby in Liverpool was born after 8 hours of labour, weighing 8 pounds at 8 minutes past 8 on 08/08. To top that, the midwife who looked after the mother delivered 8 babies that day . . .


Despite being dead since 1994, Luang Phoo Budda Thawro gets removed from his coffin every year and dressed in a new orange robe to stand before worshippers at a monastery in Thailand on his birthday.


A suspect running form the police tried to make his escape through a construction site in Reno, Nevada, only to become stuck in wet concrete . . .


A rare plant found in Bolivia called the "Puya raimondi" can take up to 150 years to bloom. However, the instant that it does, it dies.


A dog in Hui Hu has adopted itself a pig as a replacement for the puppies that it sadly lost, the devoted pig follows it's new mum everywhere.


A dolphin off the coast of Japan was found to have an extra set of flippers.


An amazing phenomenon in Chamarel, Mauritius sees the Earth divided into 7 different colours. Most vivid at sunrise, the ground is divided into red, brown, violet, yellow, deep purple, blue and green. The colours never merge, not even in rain, and when mixed artificially in a test tube, they simply separate themselves out again a few days later. This was caused by mineral rich volcanic rock cooling at uneven temperatures.
